Amazing camcorder, with 1 problem (can be fixed)4
I have used various kinds of camcorders over the years, VHS, mini-dv, dv, never flash.

The major reason I wanted this camera was because of the amazing ability to record video, and take it off your camera, being able to use it, right then, no editing, no having to capture the video using premiere or final cut, just boom, plug in camera, instantly watchable video.

If your an amateur filmmaker (or aspiring) this is HUGE. You do not need to worry about tape. The flash card will NOT get damaged and eventually need to be replace. Film is now “free” meaning you can shoot what you want, whenever, all day, and not have to worry about the “cost”. This alone makes this camera very valuable. The fact that it uses open formats such as h.264 and mp4, ensures 20 years from now, you will have no problem opening and playing the videos this camera produces (unlike other cameras which capture in formats other than open formats).

This camera does do that. You shoot your video (which is so very easy) and it saves each file as a h.264 compressed mp4. This file will play on many different devices, and you can take that mp4 and put it on dvd, post it on the web, whatever, the possibilities are endless. The audio mic does a great job, it has a wind mic feature which solves some of the problems from using the camera outside in the wind.

It has an anti shake feature (image stabilization) so the video appears more steady. Overall this is a very good camera, and I’m happy with it. There is however, a few flaws, one of them (for me) is very major. I got this camera so I could do some fun things with it, without having to spend countless hours editing the footage, making it better.

I do some 3d animation, occasional acting, and give lectures. One thing I was looking forward to was setting up the camcorder, and reading lines, and or acting. Hooking up the camera, and seeing the video, taking notes on what I need to improve on, to become better. You can do this (maybe I’m just vain) but to do this, you need to shoot in 4:3 mode, or the new YouTube mode. If your a singer and you want to capture your performance, it could not be easier than with this camera. Everything is perfect, pre-formatted, and ready for the web. The “problem” is you cannot do ANY of this in widescreen. The camera forgets to set the 16×9 flag, and as such your video comes out squished. (when shooting in “non 16×9 mode” everything works as it should, the video is fantastic, and works out of the box the way it should, simple solution, use 4:3, or import your footage in another program and export it back out corrected (which you will likely do anyway for anything important, such as color correction, adding titles, creating fun transitions, etc))

I have a mac, and as such, this cameras software is not compatible with it (says so on the box, I’m not complaining). When I import the video footage into iMovie, it recognizes the video should be widescreen and fixes it. This is still quicker than shooting on mini-dv, but it is an additional step. Maybe the software included will do that on windows, but I cannot say for certain (I also had problems importing the video into Adobe Premiere CS3)

Lets go over what I call, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good:

-This camera looks like a camera.

-It is very stylish, and looks stunning in real life.

-It is very small, you can keep it in your pocket, carry it in your car, throw it in a bag, the possibilities are endless (it is very discreet)

-3 hour long battery life, wow, just wow.

-Shoots to SD card opposed to mini-dv (you do not loose much if any real quality, and you gain so much more as discussed above)

-Manual ability to close the lens cover (some people are complaining about it, but since I had a camera that automatically did it which had a malfunction and no longer works, I highly enjoy doing it manually)

-Quality (as with everything on this camera) is very high.

-You get a nice bag to put the camera in (it is more a pouch, which protects it from dust, and lets you carry it by the handles)

-The grip swivels so you can hold the camera in different ways.

-The LCD swivels, you can view yourself on camera while capturing video, and you can flip it and reverse it to see the video on the camera (opposed to leaving it open)

The Bad.

-The Manual comes on PDF (this is not bad for me, as it is environmentally friendly, but for people who like to read the book before messing with the camera, will need to print it out)

-Does not include software for the mac (though this could be considered a pro (one less thing to install and learn), as we have imovie, and it is more than capable of working with this camera, that makes this a non issue, just listing it)

The Ugly

Widescreen mode does not work the way it should. And this is HUGE.

Unfortunately for this camera, today, youtube now runs in widescreen. This camera is set to do everything in full screen (for youtube), and the widescreen flag is never set when your shooting in widescreen mode. As I mentioned above, you can fix this, but it does not work out of the box.

I’m hoping this gets fixed with a firmware upgrade (none has been made yet) if enough people complain about it, I’m sure they will fix it.

Another great feature is one I saved for last. This goes back to those who would like to be filmmakers, and for those who would love to make professional quality videos.

I’m a photographer, and one of the most important things you learn in photography, is how to composite your images in interesting ways. One of the most important and powerful ways is the rule of thirds. This is the one key, the one element, that can change your images (or video) from rank amateur, to high end amateur or pro.

With this camcorder, samsung (much to everyone’s surprise) includes this amazing feature I see no-one here talking about, called grid mode. In it it sets up the lcd and shows a visual diagram in the form of a grid (think horizontal tic tac toe board). you can position your subject into those grids using the rule of thirds (upper right grid, lower left, upper left, lower right, just not in the middle). This makes everything you shoot, look professional and high end, without even thinking about it.

This is huge. My mom can use this camera due to its simplicity, and after I explained to her the rule of thirds, even she can make fantastic amazing looking video. I already bought one of these for her, and my grandparents. This is a truly amazing camera.

The only reason it does not get 5 stars from me, is the widescreen issue. If this gets fixed during a firmware upgrade, they get a 5.

Out of all the cameras in this price range, this should be a no-brainer, don’t even think about checking the others out.

Almost perfect (for the price)3
I won’t dwell upon the little things missing from such an inexpensive camcorder (viewfinder, for one). You expect to sacrifice some details when you strip a camcorder down to its bare essentials and sell it cheap (well, not really cheap but inexpensive).

While you won’t get DV quality video, you will get acceptable quality as long as you understand that you’re shooting in a highly compressed H264. Editing your footage on your Mac is virtually impossible unless you convert it all to DV and edit it in iMovieHD (or use that iMovie’08 abomination). Personally, I use MPEG Streamclip to convert to DV, drop those conversions into iMovieHD, do my editing, and convert the “reference movie” using MPEG Streamclip so I get a nice H264 for my iPod or AppleTV.

I would have given this camcorder 4 stars but there is a flaw in the firmware that neglects to give any of the better quality settings (the 16:9 footage that’s better than the “YouTube” quality) the “16:9 flag” setting. So what you get is footage that’s squished narrow because all the players and editing apps see this video as 4:3. (QT Player and VLC on both Macs and PCs see this problem.) As I mentioned above, I use MPEG Streamclip (it’s free) to correct this problem when I export to DV – I set the 16:9 flag there. This problem with the camcorder is, frankly, inexcusable and shows that at least one engineer was asleep at the switch.

If this problem were fixed (a firmware update, perhaps?), I’d go back to a 4-star rating. How could it get 5 stars? Give me an external microphone port.

REVISING MY RATING: SAMSUNG HAS ADDED CIRCUITRY TO THE MX20 THAT DISABLES THE CAMCORDER AFTER 30 SECONDS IF IT DETECTS AN AFTERMARKET BATTERY. SEND A COMPLAINING EMAIL TO SAMSUNG AT THEIR WEBSITE. (Use the “contact us” link at their website).

Software that makes this camcorder excellent!!!4
I now love this camcorder, its light, easy to use and the video after being converted on my computer with the right software makes the quality wide screen and crystal clear. First the software that comes with it is called Cyberlink Mediashow and it seems pretty sweet but it won’t allow a 16:9 aspect ratio even when selected. I went through Samsung’s tech support through their level 2 guys who were stumped and I found free software at download.com, “Free Video Converter v 1.3 which updates automatically after installing to v1.4″ and by selecting avi with Xvid 624×352 with 16:9, I got wide screen and great quality, I could have chosen up to 1920×1080 but on my 43″ plasma 624×352 is sweet. I’ve got my 8 and 11 year olds using this camera like pro’s and the videos are worth much more than the camera cost.
Hopefully Cyberlink Mediashow will come up with a patch for their software as it has the potential to be great if they would just fix the aspect ratio issue.

GREAT NEWS as of Nov 24, 2008 the patch for Mediashow has been released and it fixes the problem with the wide screen, kudos to Cyberlink for the quick fix.

After years of whaling and nashing our teeth (and mighty begging and pleading with various companies over the years to release all the episodes), finally the enormous Cosgrove/Hall project of their Halt Motion Animation Wind in the Willows series is starting to derive released on DVD (don’t forget to retract up a copy of the first Feature Length Episode already previously released on DVD) . The state you are looking at is for the first of about 5 volumes to be released by A&E Home Video (approx. 13 episodes each 2 disc site for each of the 5 seasons this series ran, remember most British TV seasons only last on an average of approximately 10 episodes) . Hopefully all 5 seasons will eventually be released. The reason I mention that is because in years past all us fans have been sorely disappointed to catch out no one who ever had the rights to it ever went to the bother to release ALL the episodes (being that there are a total of 65 twenty limited episodes, with also an approx. 78 little feature length one more so based on the novel book) . And yes, you heard that factual. There have been “65!” episodes made in the early to mid 80′s (wish they could acquire more) . We only discovered this incredible tid bit of news a couple of years or so ago when trying to walk around the internet to survey if we could produce clear we had all the episodes in our tape collection. We have been denied the enormous pleasure of being able to contain all the episodes at least once in all these years since 1983 when Cosgrove/Hall productions first started making them. Only a total of 19 episodes were ever released over the years on VHS tape (along with again of course the feature length one), leaving 46 episodes stuck in the vaults collecting dust. The last time we ever remember seeing any episodes aired on television in the US. was on PBS relieve in the early to mid 90′s. Mostly here in the US. HBO video was the only ones to really release mighty of anything. The first time around many years ago they released the feature length episode, and then 9 more of the first season’s episodes on 3 other tapes. Then several years later around 1996 HBO video released a 4 tape position dubbed “Four Seasons”. Basically it was a reissue of 2 of the episodes they released before, plus a seemingly random selection of 10 other episodes from different seasons.

Well, at the very least the first volume is finally here, and we have enjoyed it immensely since we received it. This first volume actually contains 14 episodes, different from what the basic description has. The extra episode is on the second disc in the special features fragment because it is actually from the second season. It also has the 4 basic character descriptions in the special features fragment. Apart from that this station lacks in any other kind of extra’s most DVD’s have these days. But what it lacks in extra’s, it more than makes up for in satisfactory family fun that we have all remembered from years past. Plus now for the very first time we’ve been able to conception 4 episodes never before released to the general public.

Episode Guide (WARNING, some thing’s in them could be considered spoilers, but not that it matters considerable, each episode is mild loaded with lots of tell viewing fun) :

Mole’s cousin (Oberon) is basically considered more of a high society individual (coming to this knowledge after they observe Oberon is mostly only coming because of Toad’s invitation to a gathering at Toad Hall), and Mole’s friends try and persuade Mole to well-organized up his plot and mannerism’s to what they judge Oberon would be more accustom to. Eventually Mole doesn’t consume a liking to all this and refuses to change himself or his status. Toad fails while trying his hand at trying to obtain the perfect wine (which blows up in his face), and winds up scheming to try and screen up labels of other wine from his cellar. In the destroy some mouse children come in the lop of time with their prize winning watermelon to obtain the silver cup and achieve an waste to all that nonsense of cheating to glean prizes) .

“The Launch Road Again” — “Toad, Rat, and Mole benefit field mice who have lost their home” (Modern fangled technology strikes again in the community, putting the farmer’s horse out of work for the harvesting season. Toad’s latest fad is hiking, but can’t manufacture it a mile down the road before complaining about tiresome out. They soon seek that the Caravan (from the feature length episode) is peaceful resting broken on the side of the road, and perform plans to fix it up and hit the begin road again for adventure’s and give the farmer’s horse something to do with all his free time. Not soon after the mouse children approach along crying that their homes in the farmer’s field were destroyed as the farmer’s unique harvester machine came along. As caring as Ratty and Mole are (along with them putting pressure on Toad), they offer the Caravan to the mouse children to cease in for several days till they can score a modern home. Several days later Ratty and Mole near along with their gear to gain for the commence road on the caravan again, only to sight the mouse children calm haven’t found a unusual home. Ratty and Mole gain excuses telling them that they only came along to narrate them that their plans were off, the farmer’s horse can’t go either because the farmer’s harvester machine breaks down and needs the horse to befriend him do, and basically train the mouse children that they can quit in it as long as they want) .

“Wayfarers All” — “Will Rat leave the comforts of home for a life of adventure and mystery? ” (Unhurried summer is approaching the status, and Ratty seems to peek all kinds of activity going on with all the other animals. Everytime Ratty tries to construct plans to do something with someone, everyone else is so busy preparing for the coming months of descend and winter. While Ratty rests by himself reach his home a unique rat traveler comes along. The traveler tells tales of his adventures on the sea and all the various lands he goes to, and in turn brings adventurous spirits buried deep in Ratty’s conscience to the surface. Ratty gets into a trance and is persuaded to follow the traveler to go traveling the world and leave his home (possibly forever) . Mole and Toad scrutinize this, and in one of Toad’s automobile’s go chasing down the road to the docks after Ratty before he gets away. In the carve of time they acquire up with Ratty and pull him away from the ship, telling him that they would miss him so remarkable and that it’s probably not a life for him and he would miss his home too) .

“The Weasels’ Trap” — “The weasels location a trap for Badger, but it catches someone else” (The Weasel’s are up to their usual foul habits and are trying to recall money from a awful rabbit child on his plan to school, and Badger intervenes. After setting the trap Badger comes along, but impartial before he gets caught in it, a rabbit child comes along for Badgers aid with a roar between the rabbits and hedgehog’s. They dimwitted lackey then tries to hatch a change in the view and disappear the trap to another residence to regain Badger on his plan help. The Weasel Captain starts to catch irritated when his lackey doesn’t return to dispute him he caught Badger, and sets out to where the trap is supposed to be. In his go he stumbles into the trap and gets himself caught (a horrifying weep happens, which is to be expected when anyone would secure their leg caught in one of those poor traps) . The other animals hurry to the yell after his lackey starts looking for succor. In the waste Badger comes along to wait on them all and free the Weasel Captain, despite the fact Badger found out that he was supposed to be the one caught in the trap, showing that it was the true thing to do no matter what) .

“Burglary at Toad Hall” — “Mrs. Carrington-Moss opens Toad Hall, and the Weasels try to slay the festivities” (Toad decides to launch Toad Hall to the general public and indicate off his mansion and all his critical goods. As everyone takes the first tour with Toad, the Weasels gradually consume things in the background so no one notices. Ratty, and Mole are naturally suspicious of the Weasels and sustain an explore on all the exits, while Badger goes off to do some watercolor painting in the hills nearby. Ratty and Mole had forgotten about the secret passage slow the statue on the stairs (as seen in the feature length episode), which is what all the weasel’s were using to stow away all the treasures they stole till they could perform a expeditiously atomize for it with all their loot. Badger being up in the hills was actually nearby the secret entrance and expeditiously gaze the weasels in the tunnel and drives them abet into Toad Hall with their booty. In the demolish the Weasels are forced to build everything help and elegant up) .

“The Piper at the Gates of Dawn” — “Otter’s son goes missing, and the search leads Mole and Ratty to Pan Island” (Everyone is enjoying a nice day out and about, and then it starts to gain slack when Otter discovers is diminutive dinky adventurous son has gone missing. After a minute while when Otter is searching and can’t bag him, everyone else starts to procure paralyzed and offer to back search (even the Weasel Captain, who owes Badger a favor from helping him before, plus the fact that he has a son of his occupy too that enjoys a bit of fun with Otters son) . Well, after shaded almost everyone is forced to give up the search, while Otter waits on the dock where him and his son always hang out. Ratty and Mole can’t rest till they collect him and go off on their enjoy in Ratty’s boat along the river to continue the search in the shadowy. Seeing a light in the distance on an island in the river, they head to Pan Island where no one really goes because of unique stories about it. The light being as dawn is approaching, Ratty and Mole perceive Otters son found his blueprint to the island and fell asleep under the Statue of Pan that is there (Pan being a protector and guide to the animals) . A touching reunion with Father and son ensues) .

“The Yuletide Entertainment” — “Badger produces a Christmas variety display that is nearly sabotaged” (A fun limited variety exhibit type of episode where all the animals obtain together for the holidays and effect for each other. Toad of course is arrogant and boasts about his singing and performing talent, but in the waste gets himself into inconvenience and swallows his untrue mustache to regain caught in his throat and loses his bellow. Some other animals don’t earn all that well, but it’s basically an amateur hour type of display anyway and everyone enjoys it. Mole in the raze fills in for some of Toad’s performing time and comes across nicely) .

BONUS EPISODE from season 2:

“Gadget Indignant” – Toad gets into technological distress “Again” This time lots of various current inventions attract Toads attention. Toad invites everyone over to Toad Hall for him to introduce them all, the basic theme is the introduction of Electricity to the region. The first major invention is Toads novel Assume (Elevator for those of you not very british slang literate) . The next is Toads recent “Doorbell”, more like a fire dread actually, which won’t shut off till it blows itself up. Then toad turns on the lights (an bad lot of them and not very lively with all the bare wires all over) . And finally Toad turns on the electric to the other appliances he has, which he apparently forget to check that he had them switched off. Chaos of course ensues till the generator finally fizzles out and everyone is left in the dismal, and the Toad falls down the empty start Assume Shaft. Another lesson learned by Toad (or so we reflect) .

All these episodes are performed by various shiny British actor’s:

Ian Carmichael – Narration (His career has had many roles for him, mostly in british roles, relieve as far as 1947 – has a well known and agreeable speak)

Peter Sallis – “Ratty” (His career has had as many significant roles, but his varied a lot more – His other more well known original roles a deliver as “Wallace” in the Wallace and Gromit series of dinky films (and even the couple of games they did) – also support an gaze out for another Wallace and Gromit episode coming hopefully by 2005/2006 (WOO HOO!), his career spans encourage to 1947 as well, he has a remarkable more well known and extremely improbable suppose)

David Jason – “Toad” (An even grand more well known philosophize throughout britain and elsewhere. Some of his other renowned voice-overs were for other Cosgrove/Hall productions Count Duckula and Dangermouse (hopefully to also be out on DVD sometime in the reach future) . Such a trim lovable vow as Toad, and you can almost report him getting into the same mischief as him. His career spans attend to around 1967)

Sir Michael Hordern – “Badger” (One of my other most current voices to listen to, and exceptionally famed throughout britain and the world. He’s illustrious for both his voice-overs as well as numerous Acting roles through several well-known films. I personally will always assume of him as “Gandalf” from a BBC radio dramatization they did for Lord of the Rings many years ago. It was a crying shame that he passed away in 1995, would have loved to have had him in the Lord of the Rings movies for most anything (even if it couldn’t have been Gandalf) . His career spans serve as far as 1938 appearing in mostly Films through out most of his career)

Richard Pearson – “Mole” (Not quite as recognizable of a converse, but mild quite fabulous. His most unique and recognizable voice-over role in a distinguished film occurred in Men In Gloomy 2 as “Gordy”. His career spans encourage to approx. 1950 appearing in a lot of british roles)

Various other people did voice-overs in some minor roles, but not quite as essential. They all did incredible jobs for the most piece expressing all the british culture and language.

You should not miss out on this clean improbable Family Fun series. I continue to acquire on to 4 other VHS video tapes released in 1996 for 9 other episodes that are not on this status, unbiased mostly because of dread that they might close production of DVD’s for this series (you never know what might happen, but hope springs eternal) . Plus at every opportunity if you could give kind praise to A&E Home Video, and abet them to continue to have faith in the series, which in turn would effect sure that they would fabricate all the other DVD’s for all the other episodes in this series. They apparently got the rights to all kinds of various Thames Television productions for over many years (another being loads of episodes of one of my current and adorable British Comedians Benny Hill, plus hopefully we might eventually peruse another Cosgrove/Hall stop-motion production I’ve loved – “Fool of the World and the Flying Ship”), and they are going through them trying to compose many things on DVD as carefully and snappy as they can. The last plot to have had the rights to this series was Time Life UK video, which didn’t seem to save mighty any peril or faith into producing considerable of anything a few years ago (not to mention no difficulty to do anything out over here in the US.) . So, I raise my glass to A&E Home Video, and will continue to pray they can glean everything out on DVD sometime in the advance future (Urge, Urge, Speed Guy’s, LOL) .

The first volume of this series (on two DVDs) comes as a righteous surprise. All but three of the episodes have been available in the past on VHS, but with four more volumes to go, there appear to be many as yet unexplored delights ahead for fans of this genuine series. Due to the age of the fresh, there is a itsy-bitsy murkiness to some of the scenes, but the sound is quite distinct.

This series was extremely well done. The fresh adaptation of the book adhered to the fresh fairly well – omitting a few parts, which were then taken up in some later episodes in the series. The artistry of the Cosgrove Hall team was excellent throughout, with detailed scenes, subtle gestures, and vast care taken to evoke the atmosphere found in this classic chronicle. The incidental music is one of the highlights; mighty of it sounds as if they dug up previously unknown works by the big Edwardian master Sir Edward Elgar. The songs still for this series were very charming and memorable. I get myself humming them often! The vocal characterizations for each of the characters fit admirably (I don’t reflect Badger or Toad could have been better chosen) .

For the most allotment, the various episodes that followed the adaptation of the book were very great in the spirit of Kenneth Graham’s unusual. There is great sterling humor, and a number of well-taken, gentle lessons about life and how to live it well.

All-in-all, this is one of the finest series available on DVD for families. Our family has adopted many of the phrases found in it for our shared life; indeed, it has become something of a staple. It won’t appeal to those who live on caffeine and constant noise: it is for those who devour or desire mild, compassion, and the simple things of life.

Customer Reviews:

They water it down now!1
I am one of the faithful die hard users of what used to be a fabulous product, but as the other reviewer wrote, they have been bought out (Pureology has been bought by L’Oreal) and the conditioner is now definetly watered down. I have been buying the Liter size bottles here at Amazon for over 3 years, and when I used to pump the conditioner out it was a a very firm pump and the product was thick and rich. Now the pump down it spurts out the watered down version and my hair is dry and not at all supple the way it used to be. Looking for a new product…. Sadley, this is definetly not worth over $100 plus shipping anymore.

not as good as it was last tiem.2
I have used this shampoo and conditioner for years. I heard it had sold to another company. I bought more after running low and when I got it I wasnt to happy. I was always able to use one or two pumps and get a great later but now it’s three or four. I’m using it twice as fast but the price is the same. I looked at the old bottle and found that the new compnay added water. I’m not to sure if I’ll buy again. The value is no longer there.

Customer Reviews:

Affordable leveling controller5
I’ve go two of these systems installed. They work like a charm, hold vehicle height within about 1/2″ of set level. They’re compatible with any air spring. And they’re not $1000 each like some other electronic level controls.

Works great5
I installed the air-lift system and it all works great. my truck rides better both with the 5th wheel camper connected and empty. i did have one problem installing the height sensor on the spring. the “U” clamp was not long enough, so i had to buy one at the local hardware store for only $5.

works great5
This is so much better than adding/removing air every time the 5th wheel is connected, plus it is more accurate and self levels as the ground conditions change.

From the Manufacturer

Old fashioned automatic level systems use a lever between the frame and the axle to determine level and ride height. Most competitive levers are hard to mount and calibrate, and prone to failure. Now Air Lift solves the problem with SmartAir, an exclusive automatic leveling system that has no contact arm. This on board air compressor system inflates, maintains, and controls air springs on your vehicle for maximum convenience and leveling on-the-go. Quick and easy to install, SmartAir comes with a fully illustrated instruction manual and requires no lines to the cab. SmartAir does not work with coil-sprung vehicles or Air Lift 1000 adjustable air helper springs.

The leveling system in SmartAir works by sensing when the system is not level – either too low or too high – and automatically returns to the desired set ride height. The unique non-contact height sensor maintains a level ride, no matter what, under any road or load conditions. Each SmartAir kit includes everything you need to fill and control air pressure in your air springs — a pre-assembled wiring harness, electronic sensor system, and compressor.

Air Lift on board air systems are the most advanced in the industry and work with all brands of air springs.

This listing is for the single sensor SmartAir system, kit number 25415.

Do I Need Single or Dual Path Control?
Purchase a single path/sensor model if you want to level your load evenly (to raise or lower the front or rear end of your vehicle). Two springs will inflate at the same rate at the same time.

Purchase a dual path/sensor model (kit number 25430) for uneven loads that need adjustment from one side of the vehicle to the other or for more advanced leveling capability. You can either control two air springs independently (for side-to-side leveling) or you can split the line to control a full set of four air springs, two at a time (side-to-side or front-to-rear).

Suggested Accessories
If you’re still in need of air helper springs, be sure to consider the many different air spring options Air Lift offers. With a lifetime warranty, the easiest installations, and best-in-class customer service, it’s easy to see why Air Lift air helper springs are America’s favorite.

Best Warranty in the Business
Air Lift Company warrants that the SmartAir on board air compressor system will be free from defects in workmanship or materials for two years on the vehicle of original installation. This does not include installation or other service charges for replacement.

Let’s derive one thing straight, this is not a FF series for old-school Marvel fanboys; the kind who complain that an adaptation is cheesy if it is 100% faithful to the novel material but go ballistic if they change anything from the laughable. I know you know who I’m talking about. This series is a original reinvention of the superheroes we know and savor and personally I enjoyed it. A lot.

The animation is certainly above average for a cartoon; it’s not exactly Pixar, but it’s far worthy to the more archaic Extraordinary Four – The Complete Moving Series with it’s inappropriate theme song. The explore is a uniquely new mix of eastern and western styles with some nice CG, all of which may be off-putting to those who impartial want an inviting version of a forty year-old droll book (that’s already been done…twice) but it works nonetheless. The series’ best attribute by far is it’s bewitching sense of humor. For example, in one episode Dr. Doom manages to switch bodies with Reed Richards after imprisoning himself. Reed, in Doom’s fully armored body, escapes and hails a cab. As he sits down in the encourage of the taxi, the driver eyes him for a second before commenting, “Hey, you’re that Iron Man guy, ain’t ya? “. Reed/Doom -rather than justify the insane situation- simply looks at him and responds, “Yes. Yes I am.”. Substantial stuff, but if the view of poking fun at classic comical characters is sacrilegious to you, skip this exhibit. Johnny Storm’s unfavorable insistence that everyone call Annihilus “The Annihilator!” as if he was a professional wrestler won’t catch him any fans among the overly earnest Marvel broken-down guard of fandom. But his Doom impression is laugh-out-loud hilarious.

As with all Marvel titillating series, this one’s got it’s piece of guest stars including Iron Man, Ant Man, the Hulk (effect to self: don’t compose fun of his momma), The Sub-Mariner, and more so three cheers for that. The series is episodic so there are no continuous arcs to follow, each explain is a twenty cramped anecdote chubby of silly situations, wintry action scenes, and fresh interpretations of classic villains (the episode where the Skrulls disguise themselves as the FF’s neighbors and ask them bizarre questions about their powers/weaknesses is another fun one) . There are recurring characters and call-backs to previous episodes, but the stories themselves are self-contained. Nice and simple.

While the early 90′s spicy series was considerable more faithful to the amusing, the animation has not traditional well and the early episodes are nearly as cheesy at times as the unwatchable 60′s incarnation. It’s a kindly point to for fans of the humorous that improved greatly as it went on, but there is a lot more to like about this incarnation if you can procure over the lack of faithfulness to the source material. This is the FF at their funnest.

Anybody who prefers the older version has probably repressed the memory of Johnny Storm rapping (“flame on and on and on…) .

I’m extremely ecstatic that Marvel has given us this series and NOT based it on the films; and even more so that they have released a plump season boxed status. Certain, they milked some of you with a few single-disc releases first, but for those of you (like me) who crossed their fingers and hoped, here it is: Season One of “Fabulous Four- World’s Greatest Heroes” complete with NINE unaired episodes, chilly featurettes and commentaries, and even an art gallery. Even the packaging is top notch. I am well-pleased with this area. I rate it 4 1/2 stars rounded up for successfully taking on the very difficult task of reinventing one of the last generation’s flagship titles. Bask In. Now, for the umpteenth time: Marvel, will you PLEASE release the 90′s X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wonderful Hulk series’ in their entirety?! I know you don’t abominate money so what gives?

If you’re a longtime fan of the Astonishing Four, it’s hard not to be judgmental when you first earn a scrutinize of this indicate. But if you can obtain past the retooled character and costume designs (for the FF and their villains), and Reed’s unruly mop of hair and Johnny’s anime-influenced spiky do, and that spray-painted “4″ on Ben’s chest – then you might glean that this is a pleasing noble exciting series. Or was, anyway, since it’s been canned already.

FANTASTIC FOUR: WORLD’S GREATEST HEROES debuted in September 2006 on the Cartoon Network. For the lively ones, this happens to be the fourth television incarnation of Marvel’s first superhero family, succeeding the 1967, 1978 (with H.E.R.B.I.E. taking over for the Torch), and the 1994 versions. It’s the hippest and funniest TV adaptation yet.

The series captures the essence of these characters. I’ve always liked Reed Richards, but he’s never been the ideal leading man. Here, he seems to be younger but as typically bland and henpecked (thanks, Sue), although at times his personality channels the hipper Ultimate Reed Richards. Johnny Storm, patterned after the live action film’s version, has never been more brash and immature, but he grew on me, and there are many times when he landed me in the laughable giggles. He and H.E.R.B.I.E. provide a lot of the humor. The ever-lovin’ Thing is peaceful a tragic monster, but big-hearted, as demonstrated in “Contest of Champions.” Johnny’s older sis, Susan, consistently plays the role of the grown-up in the team and makes a formidable second-in-command. I’m joyful that H.E.R.B.I.E. is befriend in the mix. This time H.E.R.B.I.E. is the self-aware computer system which Reed constructs to befriend urge the Baxter Building. I dig how persistently happy and neurotic this fresh incarnation of H.E.R.B.I.E. is.

The mythos and spirit of the FF are well translated onto the camouflage. The sci-fi backdrop. Reed’s futuristic gadgets. The classic and complex supervillains. The FF’s constant family bickerings and infighting. As per norm, Reed’s powerhouse intellect and scientific curiosity dictate that the team, besides holding down that saving the world gig, also acts as part-time explorers. As such, the foursome frequently ruin up in unusual environments, whether it’s the Microverse, the Negative Zone, on a different planet, or even in an alternate timeline. The Improbable Four have always been adventurers on an anecdote scale. Mining from the FF mythos, quite a few of the episodes here are inspired by classic FF stories from the comical book (the FF getting evicted, Reed and Doom trading bodies, the Baxter Building being launched into spot, the coming of Terminus, etc.) .

The scattershot TV scheduling never gave the point to a chance to do a valid following. In my case, the sporadic airing left me lukewarm and even feeling essential of the episodes, and of the changes effected. But, now, having honest seen the entire hasten on this box residence, I’ve near around 180. After right viewing, the continuity and cohesiveness of the exhibit are more readily discerned, despite that the stories tended to be episodic. Past events are recalled in later episodes. Torch’s awe of water is revisited a number of times. The Baxter Building tenants have recurring appearances.

As done by the French-based animation house, Moonscoop, the animation is crazy bananas – a cold, fairly unruffled integration of 2D and CG, and rendered with lush and shimmering colors. Everything looks tremendous – the FF certainly, but also the revamped classic villains. And the background details are attractive stuff! The city landscape, for example, is impressively depicted time and again. The “Annihilate” episode, in particular, showcases some heavenly visuals. And, the stuff’s presented in anamorphic widescreen. Also, I don’t want to leave out the episode title cards, which struck me as wintry and keen visuals. The theme song, however, is dang outmoded.

Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes: The Complete First Season, in four discs, collects all 26 episodes, quite a few of which never got a chance to be aired. This terrific looking box place offers these bonus features: audio commentaries by Head Writer Chris Yost and Exec Producer Craig Kyle on 3 episodes: “My Neighbor Was A Skrull,” “Contest of Champions,” and “Scavenger Hunt”; “From Origin to Animation” (18 minutes long) tracks the FF’s plan and evolution and includes an interview with Stan Lee; “Rise of the Rogues” (9 minutes) covers the FF’s classic villains (again, with Stan Lee) ; “Traveling to Recent Dimensions” focuses on the animation work and features interviews with the Moonscoop crew; four art galleries, including one showcasing some classic FF funny book covers; and even a shrimp comical book reprinting Ultimate Improbable Four #1.

The surface tweaks might be disconcerting at first, but, trust me, impartial roll with them. You’ll catch that this is the quintessential Extraordinary Four. The same dysfunctional team, the same family of superheroes. Ben’s self-loathing as a monster, Ben and Johnny’s non-stop teasing and pranking, the classic supervillains, all these bring a retro feel to the display, hearkening aid to when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were doing the honors on the World’s Greatest Magazine. And, really, when was the Incredible Four franchise ever better than when those two outmoded coots were running it?

- Episode 1 – “Doomsday” – Dissension fractures the team as the media accuses Reed of having deliberately exposed Sue, Ben, and Johnny to cosmic rays on their fateful state mission.

- Episode 2 – “Molehattan” – When Manhattan highrises start to sink underground, it could only mean the work of the Mole Man. And, this time, Ol’ Moley wants Ben to join his side.

- Episode 3- “Trial by Fire” – Johnny Storm is charged with high crimes against the intergalactic Kree Empire. Johnny’s trial lawyer? Reed Richards.

- Episode 4- “Doomed” – Doom’s mind transference technology enables him to swap bodies with Reed. A camera crew follows Johnny around to film a “day in the life” segment.

- Episode 5 – “Puppet Master” – A segment of the area position in which the FF originally got their powers crashes onto a beach and irradiates the sculpting clay of Alicia Masters’s haunted step-father.

A Disappointment3
I read the reviewers comments and I usually decide on what they
say. I got the PS-70 on Friday and went with my wife to use our
old Sentinel Shredder and the new one in our office this Saturday.
In the manual it says that “continuous operation beyond 10-12
minuts will trigger 20-minute cool down period.” So, had I read that I would never have bought it. Wish the other reviewers would have mentioned it, but in any event I just did. On the positive side, the PS-70 looks good. Cuts well. Is quiet. I doubt they will take it back. So if you have some significant shredding to do, you can take a 20 minute break for 10-12 minutes of work. Maybe they should put a cooling fan in it or suppy an external
one to blow air through the venting holes. I will check into the
cooling fan side of it and see if I can salvage anything out of my money.

Great shredder!5
This is great shredder and easy to use. It easily takes care of CDs, credit cards, and 8-10 sheets of paper at a time. Easy to operate and empty.

I hate this da#n thing…2
Some idiot bought this for my office; the waste bin is a rickety, 2-part ordeal that’s split down the middle for some odd reason. Also, there’s no handgrabs or handles or anywhere to put your fingers and lift the shredder mechanism off (see photo). The shredder mechanism fits flushly against the bin. When I put it down today, I pinched my finger between the bin and the mechanism, and I’ve got a huge blood blister now and it hurt like hell. This thing is rickety and dangerous!
